Thread: Oklahoma Earthquakes 2011

  1. Default Re: Oklahoma Earthquakes 2011

MDot, you're not alone. I kept telling Venture about the shakes that I kept feeling in his Lair and he just kept on telling me different explanations other than actual tremors. Am I crazy? Am I frickin' crazy?! In additional to the shakes that I kept feeling, I even could see my lucky bamboo in front of me shake a bit, too. THIS IS MADNESS!!!

Looks like a relatively quiet night. We had one noticeable aftershock about 20 minutes after the 4.7. Following that looks like around 9 very weak aftershocks. Unfortunately there is no way we can predict what happens next. It has been pretty typical of a relatively quiet period of no aftershocks over 2.5 or 3.0 for several hours and then a moderate quake occurs.

My opinion, I think we just get to accept these as the norm for now and not be shocked when things start rocking back and forth every now and then. We very well could be done with them, can expect to have another 4.0-5.0 quake, or might be lined up for something stronger if pressure is building on the fault right now.

At least this state is never boring environmentally.

I felt my first Oklahoma earthquake in 1963. Didn't feel another until last
    year.

Add 'Drought,' 'Floods' and 'Hail' to that list to get it complete.

Now when people ask me where I'm from and I say Oklahoma City they won't think something negative of me, they'll think "man he's so brave and courageous." "We had an F5 tornado and an 8.0 earthquake at the exact same time where I'm from" yeah, that'll get some respect. Lol

I don't remember feeling the 3.6 unless its one of many tremors I *think* may have felt.
