the ACE hardware store on west Main St. is closing and moving merchandise to the Alameda ACE which will close after it sells off as much inventory as possible.

Bummer to see the W. Main store close. It's been a fairly convenient location over time.
As for the other, I did not know there was an ACE over Alameda way.
Guess it's time to find a new what-not location
Ace moved in to the slot where the grocery store was in the mall at 12th & Alameda. It's near the Pizza Shuttle and the slot where Lai-Lai's/Panda Garden is going in.
So, both Ace locations will close?
My understanding from one of the sales clerks is that after the merchandise is sold off, both will reopen as Lakewood Ace Hardware. It is similar to the Hardee's /Carl Jr. thing. Lakewood Ace is pushing their territory into what was Ace territory.
CORRECTION: It will be called Westlake/Ace Hardware.
I noticed that Westlake Ace is better than Ace and tend to have better seasonal product selections.
Are they both under the same company or not? They seem to have the same sort of logo/signage on their buildings.
I believe that Ace like "True Value" and "Do it Best" are buying groups like IGA in the grocery world. The Ace stores are owned by individuals. The Westlake people just own a bunch of hardware stores and affiliate with Ace.
