When I came to OKC around 1970 the downtown area was full of life. Sure there were X rated movie theaters and seedy hotels but it was busy and people were here. Plenty of downtown shopping, drugstores and even a grocery store a few blocks south of Reno on Harvey,Burger Bros? But downtown had life.

I would not trade the current downtown for the past (as downtown OKC is somewhat modern), but if I could have it perfect - I would prefer to have kept more of the past and mix in the current and future. Ala Chicago.

But with the two choices, I like downtown OKC better today and will like it MUCH better in years to come.
    Oklahoma City, the RENAISSANCE CITY!
