facebook has a new thing saying "EVE" norman is coming soon from the rok bar family. does anyone know when it will open specifically??? inside photos?? is it supposed to take over a old restaurant or something?

goin by the address 584 buchanan is where justin's was until recently. the two story building with an upstairs bar across from hideaway. good luck to the new place, that address has recently been a big pit to pour money in.

Clubs and lounges have had a poor track record in Norman for the last couple of decades. Opie's being the exception.

Rok Bar may be able to pull it off. The original downtown stays packed on weekends and their spinoff in Tulsa, Pink Bar, is really popular.

In all my years at the university, I haven't seen a group dying for a club scene that didn't already go to 101 (Congos).

As someone who always, even back in my 20's, preferred a slow pace quiet pub setting to any club setting, what's the story on 101 and this new place?

I don't see me ever popping by either, but the disdain shown does evoke a touch of the curious as to why it exists.

When I was younger, I used to love to go out and dance. There's really no place for that here.
The only issue is gross guys rubbing all over you and trying to mack all night when all you want to do is dance with your friends. But I think that's everywhere.

I always think Campus Corner is a pretty chill place, good bars and food and this type of establishment doesn't really mesh. IMO, at least. I doubt it will last.
