Cinema 70 Drive in NW OKC

Back in the 70's I lived in Edgewater Park next to Cinema 70 theater. We went all the time. Really had a great time. Wife and I were talking about it yesterday and I did a google search and found this forum.
Really wish I had pics from that time.. The sign for the theater was awesome.
Anyway, if anyone has pics to share would be appreciated.

I remember seeing a triple feature of Godfather, Saturday Night Fever and The Fog there.
That and Fourteen Flags drive in is where we went quite a bit.

My parents took me to the opening night show. I was 12 yrs. old and I think the movie was "It's a mad..mad..world"

Only saw one movie there and it was so bad I never returned.

That's what my girlfriend wanted to see! Fell asleep twice.

Should have paid attention. It was an omen. We married. Only lasted 3 years...

I cannot remember all the movies but, I remember many Friday Nights at Cinema 70, Winchester, SkyView Twin, Fourteen Flags, Rivera and Hillcrest watching double and triple features.

Mom would fill grocery bags full of popped popcorn and fill the ice chest with candybars, sandwiches and Shasta or Cragmont Soda (Safeway Brand). We would strech out in the bed of my Dad's pickup and watch movies all night. Good Times.

Its amazing how we can look back and wish we had done things differently.
I never even thought for a moment I would ever wish I had a picture of the theater sign...lit up at night..
It would be cool for a theater room blown up big..
Back in 1975 we could drive past Rockwell and be in the country..
It was a great place to be a kid.

No kidding! I used to hunt and fish on a place located at MacArthur and Memorial. Think a Starbucks sits right where the two story frame house stood...

The one good thing about "progress" in that area was the Martin Nature Park. After the place opened and people came around and would feed the animals. That food and the stuff the park provided attracted all kinds of animals. There were times that the park would call the cops. As long as we were west of the creek that ran through the area and used only shotguns, we were within the law. Lots of squirrels and rabbits ate from that place.
