Thread: Chicken

    Default Chicken

What is or was your favorite chicken restaurant? Mine was I think called Bunches. It was located on 6th and N Walnut. It had the best broasted chicken in town. It was on the west side of the road in an old run down gas station. You would have to wait in line to get your chicken, but it was well worth it. It closed in the early 80's when the expressway came through. M-m-m-m-m-m that was some good chicken.

I agree with you!!! Whenever my folks took us on a picnic, usually Lincoln Park, we stopped there and got chicken.

Only one to compare is/was on S.W.44th west of Agnew! Southside of 44th.

I've recently become partial to a little restaurant in Piedmont called Chicken & Chops. It's just as good as Eischens, IMO, but only 1/2 the driving distance to get there.

Edy's broasted chicken in Nicoma Park used to be the best, but it's closed now.

Why smoke chicken if you're going to deep-fry it?

Lived a half mile East of there when it opened. Good chicken--new way of frying. Do you remember Toland's Dairy at the same location?

Hey, on highwy 39 east of Lexington, there is a Hole-in-the wall feed store/convenience store (don't mean that in a bad way) but, they have undoubtedly the "Best" Broasted Chicken around. Kinda like Kerns Chicken. My wife has me every now and then go by there when coming back from the "Farm" and get Chicken........It is very "Tasty".....Called Bill's

The only thing is that the menu is pretty limited and just about everything is fried. But, when I'm in the mood for good fried chicken, it's my favorite. The wings are good too.

Sounds crazy, but Homeland on 33rd in Edmond has a chicken special on Tuesdays and their chicken is really good.

Walnut Street Broaster Fried Chicken was just around the corner from Pulliam's BBQ King. Two of my all-time favorites, but sadly gone.

It's a unique flavor and I like it, but by no means is it on my favorite list.

I think he cooks it too much in the smoker. Smoking it for a while to get the
smoky flavor then finishing it in the deep fry would be better.

I haven't had anything but 'wings & things'. Does he smoke the catfish
before deep frying? How about the Shrimp?

Is Bobo the guy who's takes your order and money? Is Bobo a real person?

For all you chicken lovers. Go and try the chicken at the new restaurant that just opened called Cajun King on 63rd & MacArthur. It is the bomb! I am just hooked on it. That and the catfish.
