Folks, I'd be careful before going through any of these links. From what I can tell, these are not sites controlled by the restaurants. Beware of anyone offering a simple path to free stuff, especially when it involves signing up for things online. The first clue that something might not be right here is that Payitforward joined up with OKC Talk simply to post this message.
    Moderator, is this spam?

Thanks for the reminder Steve. This might save a few headaches down the road.

Actually this absolutely is spam and needs to be deleted.

I thought there was some kind of probation period to avoid this sort of thing...

I personally took the time to visit each restaurant's website to locate the link for the e-mail club. If you doubt the validity of each of the offers, feel free to go to the restaurant's main site to locate the same link that I posted in this forum. Most of the restaurants use a company called "Fishbowl" to host and maintain the e-mail clubs for many well known places...hence the reason a lot of the links have "fbmta" in the URL. I have been a member of most of these e-mail clubs for several months and only receive about 1 email a month from each place, sometimes less.

I joined this forum in hopes of being able to contribute to this forum, but it would appear my efforts were misunderstood. Does it not make sense in today's economy to try locating coupons for places to eat out? Seems to me it would.

Also, I would like to also point out that I did not join this site to simply post this one message. You will also notice that I shared information about Whataburger giving out free burgers on Tuesday. I hope I can contribute more to this site in the future, but if the community would rather I not, I will respect the wishes of the other members.

The fishbowl media part of it all is what made me very suspicious. Forgive me, but the assurances of a brand new anonymous member that everything is kosher doesn't make me any more eager to sign up with these folks.
    Caveat Emptor, folks

FWIW, many of those links do go to company sites. As for fishbowl, I visited two sites via my own devices and the outgoing links from the sign up page take folks to company pages.

I'm not saying dive right in, but thrashing the entire list seems a tad heavy.

On the flip side, when one's first post is a compilation of hey go here links, given the malware hucksters out there, some level of caution is certainly not entirely out of place.

Pay, if you're genuine, welcome to the board. But please understand, your first posts looked like what a spammer might post. You might want to jump into some conversations that don't involve commercial projects.
