Thread: Ortho Surgen for a Dog?

Default Ortho Surgen for a Dog?

So a stray bloodhound decided to stay at our house. Last night got hit by a car, and dislocated her left elbow.
Seems calling a few places it's $800-$1200! And that's way more than we can afford, esp for a stray.

Any suggestion for something cheaper, or a shelter that would take her or something??!!?? She seems like a full blood, not sure why she's a stray, maybe she was just to big.

You might try calling the OKC animal shelter or if you are not in OKC try your local shelter office. They may be able to treat her for a lower cost or possibly free.

Greyhounds have a lot of rescue groups. Let your fingers do some walking because I bet there are some out there. They are a group that has more rescues than most. good luck!

They're terrific. Expensive as all get out, but terrific.

OKC said they do not do any medical work, they don't even have an x-ray machine (what they said by phone). Called many places, most won't even do the work, the ones that do start at $800-$1200.
I may try some of these rescue places, but doubt they're interested in paying to repair her.
    Thanks for the info!
