Post includes videos clips. I met the man once, as a kid attending a birthday party. He was a kind gentle soul. And it was amazing how people were affected by his death. You would have sworn a governor had died.
Question: I recall books being written after his death. Were any published and can they still be found?

Yes he was a good guy, I gre up watching him and pokey. I never knew they done a book on him, I have seen some old clips on youtube of his show.

Loratb has "kicked" in completely ....having a good time.....what was Miss Fran's sidekick's name???? She was almost too Sweet. I know she would sometimes be on the Ho-Ho show and weren't they from different stations????Saw a clown at the Car show today that was dressed like Ho-Ho. His legacy will probably live on through the eyes of old believers.....If you believed in Ho-Ho you had to believe in Santa Claus....remember????

Ho Ho's house is for sale. It's on N. Alexander just south of NW 36th street,
about 1 block. It's a 2 story house built in the late 50's on the west side of
the street.

"Ho Ho: A Touch of God's Gentle Love"

A collection of various remembrances of Ho-Ho that were sent in to the Daily Oklahoman (IIRC) by all types of people, all around the state.

The first volume was published around 1989 and was so popular that two additional volumes followed afterward.

No idea where they could still be found today. I'll ask around.

I remember going the 4th of July parades with my children and parents. Ho Ho would spot my step-father and have a quick conversation with him. Once he even climbed out of the horse drawn carridge to talk to my step-father - we thought that was cool.

My father knew Miss Fran from Liberty Bank, somehow. So he arranged for us to meet her. She was amazingly tall and very nice. Still counts as a highlight of my childhood.

I shouldn't say this...but you asked.
I was a child of the 70's/80's and I never watched Ho Ho. I always changed the channel. I wanted cartoons, not live stuff! I also never heard any of my friends mention watching it.
HOWEVER... Ho-Ho made an appearance at Shepherd Mall that I missed by a few hours and I was mad all day long. I refused to try on clothes at the stores, wouldn't eat at Orange Julius---I basically threw a small tantrum over not meeting HoHo and that sock puppet.

My Mom worked for KOCO when I was young, sometime my Dad and I would drive to Ch 5 to pick up my mom and I got to meet all the people like Ida B and HO HO. Several times Ho Ho wold bring me into his area and chat. Once Ho Ho let me help take off his make up but not all the way. Ho Ho didn't like for anyone to see him out of costume, my parents and Ho Ho left the parking lot at Ch 5 about the same time and when we got to NW Highway and MacAurther I saw Mr. Burchall "Ho Ho" since he was out of costume and I rolled down the window and yelled "HI! HO HO"!!! He ducked his head not wanting to be recognized be everyone in the traffic. Ho Ho was working at Chi Chi's entertaining and when we would go out to eat there he would come over and sit and talk with us while we waited for dinner. He was such a great guy, it's to bad my boys didn't have a chance to meet him....

Did Miss Fran do a Sunday School show on Sunday mornings, or was that the same thing as StoryTime?

I liked Ho Ho; in some ways, my mom and dad got a bigger kick out of them because of that Pokey. I always liked the Felix the Cat cartoons - the only place I ever got to see them. Felix the Cat is on YouTube, too.

OH come now '64! She had 2 puppets. That's why they called it Kukla, Fran, and Ollie. Punch and Judy were under contract.

Mortimer Snerd was my favorite.
