He also be dead now! After his divorce he bought an applicance and electronic repair shop on S.W. 89 around the Walker area. I guess his last store was on about 66th or so on south western his, his wife got it in the divorce and couldn't make a go of it. I guess the Superman Suit didn't look so good on her!! LOL
Can anyone IMAGINE Gen/64 in a Superman Suit?? I'll have night mares for sure...
And Tape Town, in Stereo City.
We used to go to OTASCO near or in Warr Acres often. We used to go to the TG&Y in Warr Acres. Used to go to C. R. Anthony's to buy clothes--two locations--I believe one on 10th Street (NW), and I believe the other was in or near Warr Acres. I went into Rothchilds some--can't think of the Mall off busy highway.
Janey
I remember most of the ones you mentioned. Do you remember the El Patio Restaurant at 417 sw 5th? My grandmother founded, owned, operated it.
Does anyone remember a car wash shaped like a whale on or around NW 50th and Meridian??

Growing up we went to the 16th & Portland location. I went to high school and worked at Skaggs with the pharmacists son (Greg Smith IIRC).
You mean this MacArthur Park Raceway? It has been reopened.
Jandebeur's Honda-Kawasaki was on SW 29th, the House of Kawasaki out at NW 10th & Council is the only one that I knew of on 10th. Our neighborhood bought most of our motorcycles out there and when we started riding we rode on the land on the SW corner of 10th & Council before the subdivision went in out there. We also rode at the north end of Overholser in what is now Stinchcomb Wildlife Refuge.

Thats it jandebeurs!....My cousin scared the crap out of a salesman there..
On NW 10th between May & Villa? About what years? There may have been an independent shop there or maybe a Harley shop. The H-D shop that I remember was Parr's at Melrose & Rockwell during the AMF/H-D years. I also grew up going into the European dealer on MacArthur where Fred Baker Firearms is. I grew up on Kawasaki's but always wanted a Euro bike, well, I have a Triumph now.
