    Default Cascata Ristorante to close...

...So i've heard and lottenville to move into their location. Is this old news? I've been out of town and just found out today.

Hadn't heard. But I've always thought that place to be over-rated anyway.

Yeah, I have never worked there or eaten there. Always thought it was crowded, but crowds dont mean your doing a good buisness.

Interesting. I always wanted to try it. Oh well.

You didn't miss much. The food was way overpriced and not very good.

Just as well I never made it over there, I suppose. I like Othello's. But Lottinville's is moving in? I don't know if I like that... Lottinville's current location just seems to fit its character. Except the parking lot needs more room. And a LOT of repair.

Went in there once not knowing the prices and left quickly...not really sure how they stayed in business at that location...oh well...

Well I had always heard it was good, and given it was Edmond, I wasn't surprised at the prices. But if it wasn't good food, well that's a different story.

I've wanted to try there, but never have. I'm not sure that's a good move for Lottinville's. Haven't been there in a few years though.

I like the Lottinvilles location. The log cabin atmosphere is very nice and fits with their wood grill dining. The Cascata design doesn't really fit the Lottinville style.

I couldn't disagree more. I think the food is fantastic. It is not your typical Italian restaurant, so maybe that is why some of you guys don't like it.

Edmond isn't a place where fine dining/innovative concepts do very well. It seems that to succeed, a kid-friendly menu is a must, i.e., cheesburgers, pizza and nachos.

    Lottinvilles Wood Grille
    Twelve Oaks
    Le Cep Bistro
    Zarate's Latin Mexican Grill
Othello's (different ownership than Norman so similar but not the same)
    Kang's Asian Bistro

I’m not at all surprised. Mediocre food at high prices has little appeal anywhere.

I agree. Had been to Cascata twice (I'll usually give places a second chance) and food was mediocre. Comparable to a large chain (& no please don't get that thread going again) in that there wasn't anything unique or special, and some dishes I definitely make better. Additionally, the acoustics were awful. I hope something good moves in but as of now, my family and I still trek down to city center for good meals. iguana, 1492, Deep fork etc....

Drove by both resturants yesteday and work was being done at both places. Carpenters were outside of Cascata with saws buzzing and looked like workers were emptying the log cabin.
