So the bridge is closed, but there are no barriers to it?
So the bridge is closed, but there are no barriers to it?
The bigger question is why this wasn't handled some time ago, when the bridge was closed for the park construction.
Now, they have delayed the repairs again.
I took just enough business law classes to be dangerous, but I remember being told that posting a sign that says “We’re not responsible” doesn’t mean that they’re not responsible.
So, now the bridge is fenced off and no visible work is happening.
There is a lift and spool though Pete!
And I think they have added a bunch of steel cables that are attached to the pylons that I don't remember seeing...
You can see they have started the repair work:
kinda surprised the railroad didn't hold this up (or maybe they did?)
Good to see that they are moving fast.
I hope the wood they're using smells as good as the old wood did. I always liked going out on the bridge and smelling that sweet aroma. lol
So is the light grayish color the new decking? And wow how careful must they be to not drop something onto the traffic below...
Through total circumstance this ended up being a really good time to get this done, not like there's heavy park usage at the moment.
They have their work area netted for traffic protection.
From Lackmeyer's chat today:
"Yes, the re-decking underway consists of light concrete panels that should be a lot better than the wood planks."
Took these today. Seems to be about 2/3rds complete:
Gotta say it looks good...at least from a drone's point of view
are they going to do anything about wood on the sides? just leaving it? it's fine, but looks maybe slightly tacky now that the deck is refreshed... similarly what about the benches that were wood?
