Funny - Funny Sign In Guthrie

I still remember the funny DOT sign out west of town on State Hwy 33 that said "Buckle up the life you save might be your own self".

Now, I have a Guthrie sign to beat that.

It is a Re-Elect County Commissioner campaign sign that spells Commissioner "Comissioner". Can someone in Guthrie area take and post the picture so everyone else can see?

Imagine that, an elected official who can't spell the title of his office.

Not entirely - the sign shop should be sending proofs over to whoever commissioned the sign for proofreading - making both at fault for the poor spelling.

No, it was a standard yard sign. It looked like it was ordered by the candidate and slammed at the corner. I might have to drive out to the east side of Guthrie to get the picture myself. So funny.

I think there were several of them around town on the east side. They are white signs with red words. The word "Comissioner" is on the bottom of the sign. I don't remember the specific locations but I would imagine people are removing them from their yards after they realize how embarrassing it is.

Meh...take a look around. No one knows how to spell anymore. I doubt there's much embarrassment left about it.

Check South Division just south of the firing range or SH 33 on the west side of the Cottonwood Creek bridge. Most people do know how the spell the title of the office they hold (I hope).

Just take a look around on these boards here at OKCTalk. Or at various signage in general. Spelling is not a high priority.

If you want to check out a sign (or 2) that is badly misspelled, look at the ones @ Broadway and Seward. The little cemetery on the west side of the intersection has spelled cemetery as "cemetary". It's posted twice in nicely painted metal signs hanging on the chain-link fence. What Einstein missed this one?!

At the risk of being banned for political "incorrectness", the cemetary on the west side is the colored cemetary. The one across the street is the white cemetary.
