Thread: Church Water Tanks on Hwy 92 ?

Default Church Water Tanks on Hwy 92 ?

There's two churches between Mustang & Yukon on Hwy 92 that have large tanks in the rear. Anyone know what those are used for? One is at 1301 S Cemetary Rd, the other is that new church a couple of miles south of there on the East side.
    Thanks ~ Stick

Possibly for fire protection - if an area is not served by city water or the water main size is not adequate for a sprinker system, the code allows for on-site water tanks to make up the difference.

Could be water storage for fire fighting but the need for that didn't occur to me. (I.E. not in a wooded or remote area)

seems likely to me... depends on whether or not there are hydrants in the area when the buildings were planned/constructed.

its not just hydrants....you need a lot of water and a lot of pressure for a sprinkler system....they may be source tanks or booster tanks.

How about the giant "drink shaped" tank at the 24 hour sonic on I-40 and Choctaw Road?
