wow, it is going to open in 08? They have had it all fenced off for awhile now and I can't see they have done much on the outside... Looks good.
That is great news! That will do a lot to help improve the Capitol District!
where is this at?
2 mi. north of the Capitol on Lincoln
I could be wrong, but I think this is an existing building along N. Lincoln.
Yes, it is the existing Lincoln Plaza Hotel, which was once very nice but had fallen into great disrepair.
Several fond memories from days gone by. Would be nice to see the old place spruced up for a new day.
I remember seeing something about it being purchased and that the new owners were planning a renovation.
However, if there was anything official we would have heard about it by now. I suspect this belongs in the "proposed" category rather than "done deal".
Nope friend this is for real! googled them and I came up with this page from Kayak.com which listed a phone number and it says that they should open spring of 09, you can call for your self!

Yeah, this is an existing hotel, just getting a nice remodel. I didn't realize how nice they were making it. This will be much better. It'd be nice if we could have a true capitol district similar to DC, we have the perfect layout for it.
Seth, I realize it's an existing hotel, I'm just saying the Wyndham affiliation and the renovation is probably proposed.
Has anyone been by there lately?
yeah I drive by there every day, they have construction equipment and the like out there garbage bins ect... and the voice mail that I got said that it was the Wyndham....but only time will tell.
Well that kayak listing doesn't say anything about Wyndham, and the website takes you to the Plaza in NYC...
http://www.okccvb.org/clientuploads/...2008_part2.pdf
It is listed on page 24/25.
They've had garbage bins out there for at least a year. I know they did some clean up...
I'll be more optimistic when actually construction can be verified.
