Thread: Want OKC History Books?

  1. Default Want OKC History Books?

I've identified those that I have (still very incomplete) in a new blog post, together with cover images, tables of contents, and sample pages. Only the smaller cover pages are shown here.

The post: Doug Dawgz Blog: Okc History Books

    The book covers or jackets:

    Born Grown

Heart of the Promised Land: Oklahoma County

    Historical Atlas of Oklahoma

Images of History: The Oklahoman Collection

Images of Oklahoma: A Pictoral History

    OKC: 2nd Time Around

    Okc: Land Run To Statehood

    Okc: Statehood To 1930

    Okc: 1930 to the Millennium

    Oklahoma City: Capital of Soonerland

    OPUBCO's 1st Century

    Photographing Oklahoma 1889/1991

    Vanished Spendor (I)

    Vanished Splendor II

    Vanished Splendor III

I'll add comments about the books (and others to be added) as time allows.

Hey Doug, here is a website that I found. Thought you might be interested in , although it is more on the state of Oklahoma and not Okc.

Hey Doug, I own that first one, Born Grown, I also have a few others you don't have mentioned. If you ever see any locally for sale, let me know.

    Reply to you both:

OkcLee, I'm aware of the vintage 1908 vintage stuff and I've linked it in other places, but I'd intended that the "blog post" be more contemporary. But, you are right, the really old stuff should be linked somehow. I'll work on that.

And, Metro, most if not all of the books are available for purchase somewhere. E-mail me if you are interested in somethig particular and I can probalbly line you up with a "local' source.

As for general availability, my intention is to modify the post to link such resources. And, if you have some that I've not listed, let me know. I gotta have 'em, don't you know!
