Thread: Chase Bank

Not sure it was ever used but was put in when the built the old Liberty Bank drive-thru.

I extends beneath the entire areas under the parking. Would make a great storm shelter.

I used to bank at that location when it was Liberty. I do know they used it, because people in the branch would appear and disappear up and down those steps with regularity. Perhaps administrative jobs of some sort. I believe that it was also used to access the drive-thru booths from inside the bank. It's possible, though I don't recall, that they only used this to access them and didn't come and go from the outside of the booths at all.

    That is so incredibly depressing.

The only faint hope is that because this is such a small building it would not be hard to eventually scrape for a higher and better use.

This being such a small building is the biggest disappointment. I saw this site today and really had to look to find the building, it is so tiny!

I noticed in L.A., even the Chase banks in the suburbs they don't have drive-thru's. Some of them do, but most don't.

Not terrible but also not that exciting.

Given the location and what they built, it actually is pretty terrible.

What an ugly, waste of space. This would be something I'd expect in the burbs.

Agreed. The fact that DDRC granted a variance to build thing is mind boggling. OKC is behind a lot of other cities when it comes to enforcing urban standards but what good is having standards at all if they aren't going to enforce the ones they already have?

I have seen Chase branches in other cities built to urban standards and they could have easily done that here.

DDRC is as soft as a pretzel left in a toilet for a week.

How can we vote in new members?

I'm sorry, but what evidence do you have of this? Is this more of the same hyperbole that we grown accustomed to?

I have a hard time believing you would defend this development.

I am not going to go into specifics, but OKC needs to take its existing downtown design codes and improve on them to focus more on walkability, street interaction, and neighborhood cohesiveness. Most importantly, the DDRC needs to stop granting variances so easily. If a developer wants a variance, they should have to have a very good reason for why they need it.

I'm definitely defending the development. But your statement makes it seem like the entire urban core is in shambles when that's not the case.

Still reminds me of a tiny Honda or Chevy shop. But also still miles better than the first design.
