Default Urban Neighbor's - official thread

I'd thought I'd create an Urban Neighbors official thread because there have been so many created for weekly events, etc. This way we can post all that's happening downtown related to Urban Neighbors (UN) in one central thread. For more info go to Home | Urban Neighbors

Tonight is Urban Neighbors October social. It is from 5pm-7pm at the XO Lounge in the Colcord Hotel at 15 N. Robinson. There will be FREE appetizers and a cash bar. Tonight's topic will be "A Survivor's Guide to Downtown Events this Fall".

In addition to the social, the patio at the Colcord now has live music on Thursday's until 9pm, so come and make a night of it. Free Parking is on site, as well as valet available.

Next Social: Gear up for Cycling Downtown

Thursday, January 10, join Urban Neighbors at the super-chic RED PrimeSteak and hear all about the bike rack project lead by Urban Neighbors. In case you haven't noticed, if you ride your bike somewhere downtown, it will be hard to find a place to park it! The U.N. is hoping the change that.

Plans for improving bicycling Downtown will be the theme of the Urban Neighbors meeting this Thursday evening, January 10, at Red PrimeSteak restaurant.

There will be brief presentations around 6 pm from:
Lanc Gross, City of OKC Planner, on the City's Draft Bicycle Transportation Plan, including details about Downtown bike route projects funded in the recent City Bond Issue.

Mark Gibbs, Urban Neighbors, on the Rack-Up Downtown Project, including an update on preliminary bike rack site selections and the permitting process.

Terry Enos, Owner, Bicycle Alley, on the growing bike store trade on Automobile Alley.
Route maps, plans and site photos will also be on hand to review at your leisure. We would also love to talk with you informally and get your feedback.

Thanks tuck, I was looking for you. Anyhow I headcounted about 75 but I think a few more snuck in progressively. It was definitely a step in the right direction to get more bike lanes and bike racks in downtown OKC. As always, the food was great and I even ordered some to take home to the mrs. RedPrime was sure hopping even without the UN meeting. The bottom floor and bar area were packed out with downtowners and peoples from all different backgrounds and nationalities. Nice to see a limo dropping people off as well. Definitely had that "big city" feel.
