...of KD (in a contract year); similar to Cleveland's earlier display.
Maybe not.
I'll call my Moore High School lunch buddy and AT&T CEO Randy Stephenson. Maybe I can coax him into investing a little more in OKC.
Very nice news for WRANGB since the 130s were BRAC'd out a few years back. Perhaps they'll be able to stand up a fully manned fire station again.
Yes! Tall is a virtue.
Wow. Yes, 15'. To say height is much, much less important than density or that we shouldn't care about height is what I disagree with. The cities, cited in response, have ample iconic/taller...
"Quality" density is only one factor...and a good one, but it mattering "much, much more" places far, far too much emphasis on it IMHO. I do care about height. I'll say it a thousand times...height...
What are the chances Milhaus Development seriously upgrades their proposal?
Given the floor count scenario, I'd like a 20-story building, a 34-story tower, and a 54-story tower.
Yep. A sketch project. Even an air brushed rendering (dating myself) and a model in two weeks-ish. A pitch, if you will. It's not like they're working drawings.
...but I'm going with a 43-story...
Outstanding! Thanks, again, KayneMo.
I know/hope that the exteriors will be distinctive enough so as not to appear to be "the projects" since they're somewhat cookie cutter looking as simple mass...
Interesting. Wondered about criteria for CSA vs MSA inclusion. Shawnee did seem too distant. What about Chickasha? Same criterion, probably. Not a strong enough commute pattern.
I also had...
They better watch out. Keep it up and we're taking the Seahawks. Some "redneck hillbilly" from "hicktown" will somehow go in and finesse the Seahawks away from Seattle. How dumb hicks from...
A prophecy: this area will be known as "The Quad".
Okay, so with the Skirvin at 225 rooms, 168 ft tall, and 13 floors above ground level, a hotel with roughly the same floor plate at 16 ft per floor at 735 rooms would equate to about 42 floors at 680...
New towers are nice, and all, but has anyone asked KD if he approves and will re-sign with the Thunder in 2016?
:)
Seriously, though, this represents another step in OKC becoming just a little...
The sketch looks like a simple massing exercise. The color's just to make them pop. Could be some brick, but I'm guessing the color isn't meant to necessarily represent red brick.
Oh...okay. Frost Tower, not Frozen Tower. Just got back from WDW and I thought, well...

Nice, clean, professional look.
You now have my approval to press forward with this design.
:)
Great work!
Yeah, I'm okay with a tall, interesting building, if that's what they want to build.
Thunder projected to have the best regular season record in the NBA this coming season. 58-24. All I want is the most wins in the post season.

Cylindrical would be a nice addition to the character of the CBD, but I kinda like the No.2 pencil look in the model along with some red brick finishes.
Love the traffic "cones" in that last pic.
Yes, reminiscing is so gauche, isn't it?
