    Re: Population Growth for OKC

What is more significant? A city’s “proper” population, or its MSA?

    Featherstone & Highland Park Blvd.

Does anyone know what’s happening at this intersection?
Wide swath of excavation west of the (abandoned) Aloft

    Re: Biltmore Hotel on Meridian

This used to be a Hilton if I’m correct. Very significant property with ample meeting space and a popular club and restaurant. Big player during the 80’s oil boom.

    Re: Streetlight Outages

Yeah. I'm not noticing much improvement either, at least on the routes I drive. Pretty much the same areas that have been dark for a year or longer are still dark. Very disappointed and somewhat...

    Re: Will Rogers World Airport

Speaking of negative stereotypes at Will Rogers "World" Airport. I think the shuttle buses with "Giddyup" on the side of them makes me cringe. Maybe this too is on the mayor's radar.

Unfortunate. Kirkland markets some very good spirits; particularly its botanical gin.

    Re: Costco

In Texas, Costco is prohibited from selling its own brand of spirits. Will that be the case here?
  11. Re: Oklahoma City News TV personalities: past & present.

Speaking of Mike Morgan. Always amused by his predicting something (as an example) for
"9:00 AM tomorrow morning." Rather redundant. To be fair, almost all the weather folks do this but Morgan is...

Re: Who’s in charge of highway lights??

Recently had a conversation with the mayor about this. He acknowledges it's a big problem. Says several miles of copper have been stolen and the city will need about a half-million for repairs but...

Kudos to Nonesuch and the publicity it will bring. Maybe the next article about an OKC restaurant won’t begin with such an incredulous tone on the part of the author.

    Re: Copper Theft

I don't doubt copper theft is an epidemic but the way our state and city responds to it is quite frankly alarming to say the least. You would think because it happens so frequently, the authorities...

I have no idea how much damage copper theft causes to the light fixtures or how much stolen copper has to be replaced. I'm sure it's probably all significant but I wonder why does it take so long to...

This would be a good issue for Mayor Holt to take up and get behind in a strong way. As a former state senator, I would think he would have the knowledge on how to get things done with the...

    Re: Will Rogers World Airport

How about simply Will Rogers Airport? I’ve always been amused by the “World Airport” moniker dreamt-up by the mental midgets who ran this city back in the 60s and 70s (you know, those who...

Re: Another Oklahoma liquor law Thread 2010.

It will be interesting to see how the law affects prices, particularly on wine. With more retail vendors, one would think competition would drive prices down, however, I’m hearing there will...
