Not sure I ever had anything at the Roundup besides the Chicken Fry, it was so good.
Totally agree on this. Shootout not quite as good but still excellant. Stevie at his best.
In the 60's I ate at Geno's on Agnew about SW26 or 27th. The Round-Up was better(imho) on SW 29th just east of Agnew.
edit- just saw Carlton's Keeper's post about Geno's location. He is correct.
I was there and you are right on all points. Also about the same time period saw Grand Funk at the Arena. Speakers stacked to the ceiling. Very loud and bad acoustics.
Chuck came out and "tried to...
Class of '71 from Capitol Hill...didn't feel old until I thought about that..40 years!
Cool clip...really takes you back to another time and place. Nice post.
Made me want to look up and see if there are any individual clips of some of those artists like Jesse Colin Young after the...
Eastside of street. My buddy Roy had older sisters, Pat and Nancy.
Was that pond in the field on the south side of 36th? My best friend grew up in the house on the corner of 36th and Steele.
Yes ,welcome from a fellow "Redskin". I was behind you several years at CHHS but was wondering where you grew up. Around Rancho Village you said? I played liitle league ball at that field right on...
I'll agree with that. In the late 60's I believe it was a Del Rancho. If it was ever something else I don't know.
I'll still have some kind of safety card from elementary school signed by Captain Jim Purdue.
I was in 4th or 5th grade at Shields Heights and they had us go to gym and watch on TV what was happening.
I know where I lived we could walk to the movies on Sat in Capitol Hill. I remember the mezzanine on the elevator at Brown's. Bought a crystal radio kit there for Cub Scouts.
Liked the soda fountain...
I remember going downtown and watching either the Hudson Hotel or the Hotel Black being imploded for Urban Renewal.
In it's heyday ,50's-60's, Capitol Hill had about all one needed for nice shops, theaters, etc. We did however get to go "downtown" as Petula Clark sang and get to see the really big stores. I was...
Loved to hang out in the parking lot until the manager would come out and run us off if we weren't going to come in and buy something.
I saw Vanishing Point too there. Great movie. People that ran El Rancho Sanchez I think have a place in the Mid-Del area. I'll see if I can find out where. I've never been there.
The old one was...
How about some of the TV theme songs from the 60's? I had forgotten what this one sounded like. The pics that go with this youtube clip are great if you were
a fan of U.N.C.L.E

Yep. Northside? Only went there a couple of times.
Ain't that the truth. Always said at least two millionaires came out of that bar from the 70's. Guy that invented Pente and Stan Clark(owner of Joe's) I saw Stan Saturday before the game. Looking...
On Pente, I hung out at Eskimos joes in the 70's and I think the guy that invented it was in there a lot too. Seems like his name might have been Gary or something. They played it a lot in Joesin the...
Mine was William Shatner and the demon on the airplane wing tearing up the plane.
I loved marbles..seems like they were followed by tops being the "in" game. I had a "whistler" that (duh) whistled when it spun. Tried to spike the others tops. hard to do though.
I like two out of the above three (Forbidden Planet...The Day the Earth Stood still)
plus Robinson Crusoe on Mars.
