According to Greg Banta about two weeks back, they are still working on permit issues.
It's still on, but construction has been slow for a number of reasons. The interior build out includes a lot of structural work . . . cutting out large sections of the concrete second floor . . ....
Dined at 1492 late last night, and it seems to be off to a good start. They are open until 10PM week days and 11PM friday and saturday . . . good spot for a drink after the movie or theater...
Racism.
Drove by there this evening about 8:30 and the place looked well over half full . . . even assuming that some folks were out for the evening, they've got way more than five units left.
It was orginally planned as a rental project. I understand that it was switched to a codo concept due to numerous inquiries to purchase and other considerations that appeared more profitable. None...
In the article that kicked off this thread, one of the points was trust of our municipal government, and by association, trust of our elected officials. The article stated:
Most residents are...
I guess this has happened to you on occasion; so, just because I haven't experienced it during my fifty years of driving, I'm not going to suggest that it doesn't. Perhaps I just don't spend as...
Riders of Bicycles, scooters and motorcycles have the same right to use streets as motorists in automobiles, trucks etc. and are required to observe the same laws and ordinances. A recent law was...
Considering the status of the beer, the limited availability and the dollar/euro exchange rate, $17 a bottle isn't a bad price.
Bottles. Another regular in my beer fridg is Warsteiner, a German beer.
Sounds like no chance for the Westvleteren you crave, but Beau's on Wilshire just east of May has a decent all around selection. I buy a Grimbergen Blond Ale there that is very good. Another...
But, back to the general topic. I have been a fan of impact fees for quite a while and the discussions about tapping into this source of funding growth has been a topic at City Hall for years. It...
Reality is that everyone that pays federal income tax, state income tax or buys fule is already paying their fair share for a broad aray of transportation subsidies. The federal money that comes...
Are you kidding? Light rail is the future of commuting between Norman, Edmond, Yukon, MWC and OKC. And trips between downtown and places like the zoo, airport, Penn Square etc. for the Oklahoma...
Actually the round-a-bout landscaping is way different than the original version. The first try also had irrigation built in, but the dumb-asses driving through rather than around rendered it...
Quality of life is the name of the list IMO.
But to some, a big lawn in the burbs, SUV, Wal Mart on the corner, wide roads and a gigantic fundamentalist church within five miles is their dream...
As is too often the case, OKC residents awake to find that either government or a utility is wrecking havoc with their neighborhood. In this case, O.G. & E. poured a six foot diameter, waist high...
We usually have a bite at the bar. The arugula pizza and a couple glasses of nicely chilled Pinot Grigio were our choices one evening last week. Good food . . . good service . . . reasonable...
I've been an Irma's fan since they opened up #1 on 63rd and now having them in my neighborhood is even better. I've made it there three times since they opened and it appears that they are off to a...
Lots of good points being made on both sides of this issue IMO.
As Steve Lackmeyer's article pointed out, sometimes you win and sometimes you loose. I don't like the idea of incentives used a...
Restaurant patrons come for the food . . . the service . . . the ambience . . . the wine . . . the experience . . . not the sign.
The sign is perfect.
:congrats: Congratulations to the...
If they did, they weren't open long. I drove by about 1:00 and the signs on the doors had Thursday scratched out. Friday looks like their Plaza Court coming out.
At Irma's new Plaza Court location, the neon beer signs are all shining and a note chalked on a small blackboard near the bar appears to be a reminder to the staff that "WE OPEN MONDAY".
