Permanently switch to the Johnnie's Express model and replace half of the Sonics, please and thank you.

    Re: Native Roots

The surrounding apartments all have high occupancy rates so I would assume the only grocery store in the area would thrive. That really is too bad.

    Re: Jimmy's Egg

Sure, some folks under 35 will frequent this location, but my guess is not enough.
  5. Re: Scottie's Deli

You say this as if that is a rare thing. I too have had sandwiches from shops all over the country and my opinion is still different than yours, sir. Safe travels!
  6. Re: Scottie's Deli

What an exceptionally bad opinion of a fantastic sandwich shop!

My strong personal opinion aside, Scottie's just wasn't consistent enough for their price point.

    Re: Jimmy's Egg

I just can't imagine a Jimmy's Egg doing well in that part of town. Millennials, who occupy a large portion of the residency downtown, aren't price sensitive when it comes to food, instead are "hip"...

    Re: Parlor OKC

Finally tried the Detroit style pizza this week. So delicious! I felt hungover the next day, however. Perhaps a self-control issue because I ate 80% of it.
  9. Re: Scottie's Deli

If Someplace Else Deli is in existence, I'm not going someplace else. Scottie's was fine, but a much higher price point than Someplace Else.

Are people actually sitting in the drive-in to enjoy their food/drinks? I've always been a generous tipper, but if there is a drive-thru option I'm going to use that instead of opting-in to tip...

Agreed, but I'm sure the owners feel a bit differently. I'll definitely try out the new concept.

    Re: Republic

Oddly, Maples might have done well in the Republic spot and something like a Republic Too would have worked at the Maples spot.

    Re: Maples Barbecue

If Maples would have tried to be the Iron Starr of the Plaza, I think it might have worked. Props for trying to stay true the simple BBQ aesthetic, but to Pete's point, I certainly never wanted to...

Yes, many of the people who work in the Plaza are hipsters, but the majority of its patrons are not (Saint's excluded). Unless you view all people under 30 as meat-loathing salad drinkers, claiming...

IMO their fatal mistake was not including fries and a solid burger from the very beginning. Perhaps that goes against some BBQ creed, but the reality is the Plaza is not a cheap location to run a...
