I contacted Bob Bowlby, the architect for Founders Bank, and asked if he would mind making a statement. He was happy to comply and sent us at the Okie Mod Squad this statement:
My design and the...
The building was expanded in 1978. Here's the history of the bank:

That's what I heard, too, but the bus station is definitely on the endangered buildings list: ...
Last I heard, the building was going to be converted to restaurant space and now it's on the Endangered List for 2014. Surely, we're not losing this great piece of mid-century architecture, too?
In celebration of Valentine's Day and for those of you aren't ready to give up on Stage Center, please join us on Friday at 5:00 for a big building hug. More info here: ...
This is great news. H&M is a fun, hip, and affordable store that will go over very well here. And, there are several smaller, one story version of H&M around, including one in Vegas.

I just wanted to let you guys know that the OKC Mod Squad, a group of mid-century modern devotees, has put together a website about all of the great modern architecture here in the Metro, and we will...

I love those aerials! Thanks for sharing.
I'm so glad this piece of OKC history has been saved -- good work, guys! Now, since we all worked together, mmm, you have to invite us over when you get it assembled someday. I'd love to see it up...
Does anyone know who the owners are? I'd love to contact them and see what their plans are for this sign.

Any news about the fate of these two iconic buildings? I know that the bus station closes in the fall and have heard grumblings that it may be torn down or perhaps repurposed as a restaurant or...
Here are a couple of photos of the downtown post office in mid-demolition:

I've been doing some great vacation reading -- The Girl Who Played with Fire series (I'm on the third one now). Also, I just reread one of my all-time favorites, Jack Finney's time travel...
I read somewhere that it opened in 1953.
