They're already doing this as much as reasonably feasible given the street layout and BNSF viaduct in OKC. That rendering of the KCMO proposal doesn't really show I-70 running between the arena and...

^^ I agree. When I lived near the place, I tried to like it but something always seemed off.
Oh what I would give for this place to just get rain. No hand wringing over a thunderstorm, no excitement over chasing tornadoes. Just regular old rain without any drama.......
If BNSF and / or UP were to build an intermodal facility there it could become a huge logistics hub. Probably not on the level of Alliance TX, and maybe OKC is too close to Alliance to make it viable...

He is one of far too many land squatters in this area. Norman and OKC have several high profile properties in the hands of people with like that......but it's probably asking too much for all...
This is really cool. For anyone that insists in saying nothing is ever done "right" as far as urban development in OKC, I present Exhibit A in refuting that falsehood.
In my opinion (which carries as much weight as the amount of $$$ I've put into this project) this entire development makes much more sense at that site. If I were the city, I might try to broker some...
Duplicate post. Sorry for mucking up the flow......
In fact, it is the opposite of cutting edge - it is the way we once built villages, town, and cities. These are always the most desirable parts of urban areas and the places Americans love to visit...
This is going to be a very nice area - and certain to be jammed for the first several weeks/months. Hopefully it will be wildly successful and encourage more development like this around the metro.
Pretty solid business model to locate adjacent to a weed store.......
It's unfortunate we have a few large companies that chose to build their facilities outside downtown. For example, had PayCom located in the urban core I can only imagine the impact they could have...

That is a huge part of not doing it "on the cheap". In order for HSR to take the place of, or provide another alternative to, mid-range flights of 500 miles or less, entirely new rights of way...
Any chance Kimray might shift some of their administrative employees to downtown?? Admittedly I know very little about them, but it seems like they have a lot of people in several buildings.
:congrats: well played sir.....
I agree with this. So now the question is how do we get past trying to do it on the cheap????
It is going to require more public funding to make it viable in the manner described by many here. It...
When will this simple truth ever be grasped by more Americans? Same goes for public transit.
The rhetoric is usually something like "why should your tax dollars be spent for other people to ride...
In Halifax Nova Scotia there was a bar called "My Apartment"......
Lol......maybe the more obvious joke would work??

^^ True. Maybe a "Buy American" requirement for USPS would help to an extent. I have noticed USPS replaces the MB star in the grille of their vehicles. Then the specter of a giant like Ford comes...
Their vehicle seems to be a perfect fit for USPS in urban / suburban areas. I thought they had a deal to provide new mail carrier vehicles or am I recalling a discussion about how much sense it...
Public transit is a public service. It is not a profit center and no reasonable person thinks any public transit system is directly profitable or breaks even. I can't provide an exact number, but the...
Didn't jump on $75000 (and lower) homes in Edgemere several years ago......
Or a few small lots west of Scissortail Park before they were snapped up.....
If you haven't tried it yet, Core4 is my favorite local brewery. They had the best Marzen I have ever tried for Octoberfest. The owners and staff are fun to spend time with in the taproom.
That drove me crazy when I had to drive that route every day. I cannot count the number of times I was nearly hit by someone coming up that on ramp and failing to yield.
Another issue that I...
