  • Paseo to get a major makeover

A much-needed project will soon commence that will completely rebuild sidewalks, landscaping, and streets around the Paseo District and will better connect it to the Uptown/23rd District.

After the Paseo Arts Festival over Memorial Day weekend, the City of OKC will commence work on replacing the crumbling sidewalks along Walker Avenue between NW 23rd and NW 36th.

The work will include the entire Paseo District and will not only beautify the area but increase ADA compliance, enhance pedestrian safety, and update all the public lighting.

The City hopes to conclude the entire project before the 2024 Paseo Festival and will stop construction and clean up for each First Friday event in the district.

As the two districts continue to add new businesses and attractions, the improved pedestrian connection will allow people to move much more freely and safely.
