  • Historic Chrysler Plymouth building sells

A former Chrysler dealership in the Midtown area has sold to a prominent local development group.

The Pivot Project group – redevelopers of Sunshine Laundry, Tower Theatre and more – purchased the 1946 building earlier in the month for $1.885 million.

The property on the northwest corner of Harvey and NW 13th has been for sale for several years and is currently home to Able Rents.

The streamlined exterior has been covered with a concrete aggregate facade but the 2-level showroom is still largely intact with a large staircase leading up to a mezzanine level and original tile floors.

At some point, the western section of the former dealership was split off to separate ownership, and that building is renovated office space called The Monterey.

The remaining eastern portion contains nearly 32,000 square feet on two levels.
