  • Golden Phoenix project to add 4 levels of event space and apartments

As we first reported last August, the popular Golden Phoenix restaurant and market is planning an ambitious expansion to the south and will replace several dilapidated structures along Classen and NW 26th.

Updated plans are even more ambitious, showing an expanded restaurant and new tenant space on the ground floor, and event space and apartments on levels 2, 3 and 4.

The 4th floor will also feature a large outdoor terrace.

14 total apartments will be for rent, including 7 1-bed, 4 2-bed and 3 studios.

The project will also have two elevators and two new / expanded parking areas.

The three properties to be demolished were built between 1925 and 1930 but have been abandoned, topped with billboards and unsightly for some time.

Two dwellings to the east would also be removed.

The existing Golden Phoenix building was constructed in the late 1970's and was recently rebuilt after a large fire.
