  • Fast food update: Bojangles coming to OKC with several others

Here at OKCTalk, we cover hundreds of local restaurants. But we also get a lot of questions about chains, so we will continue to cover both.

Bojangles Chicken has filed plans to build a free-standing store at 13135 N. Penn, just south of Del Taco and in front of the new Dick’s House of Sport. The chain had previously announced plans to come to Oklahoma within Love’s Travel Stops, but then that deal fell through. The OKC location would be the first in the state of Bojangles and there will likely be more to come.

Cinnaholic is also building out space in Chisholm Creek just north of Eddy’s. They specialize in gourmet cinnamon rolls that can be customized with over 20 frostings and toppings and will be new to OKC.

Waldo’s Chicken & Beer is coming to the Rose Creek center on the NW corner of 176th & May. Taziki’s Mediterranean will open directly next door. Both will be new to Central Oklahoma and expect more locations here.

Knuckies Hoagies is coming to the Walmart on SW 19th in Moore, with plans for more locations around the city.

Taco Casa is well under construction on N. Penn just north of Memorial in front of At Home. The popular chain still has plans to build on the NW corner of NW 50th and May and the SW corner of Rockwell and Memorial.

And Waffle House will also be going in on the SW corner of Rockwell & Memorial.

Also at NW 50th & May, 5 Guys will soon be opening next to the new Starbucks.

And speaking of that ubiquitous coffee chain, they have filed plans to build on an empty lot on the east side of Classen just south of NW 13th very near the under-construction OnCue.

Dave’s Hot Chicken recently opened in the Stacks in the Yukon/Mustang area, on NW 10th to the west of Czech Hall Road. They also recently opened in Chisholm Creek.

No new news on El Pollo Loco after they announced plans to enter our market a couple of years ago.

Same is true with In-n-Out. Lots of rumors but no deals as of yet.

OnCue, Panda Express, HTeaO, Chick-fil-A, Salad and Go, Swig, and Starbucks continue to pop up all over the metro.

And before anyone asks, nothing new yet on Buc-ee’s other than they have publicly announced plans to come to the state. Look for them to locate just outside of OKC along I-35 or I-40.
