MAPS 3? idea solicitation draws to a close

Residents have just two more weeks to suggest their ideas regarding a possible MAPS 3 initiative for Oklahoma City. The survey, which is available by logging on at www.maps3.org (http://www.maps3.org/), can be accessed until May 15.

According to Mayor Mick Cornett, information gathered from the qualitative on-line survey will help chart the course for a possible MAPS 3. The survey asks citizens if Oklahoma City should consider a third MAPS initiative and, if so, what their ideas are for the future.

“The response so far has been enthusiastic,” said Cornett. “People clearly appreciate the opportunity to weigh in on this issue. If we ultimately choose to move forward, there are potentially many steps to go in this dialogue, but the input we receive now will undoubtedly guide the process as it moves forward,” said Cornett.

Mayor Cornett launched the MAPS 3? Web site at his State of the City address on January 17. The site has received thousands of survey submissions from residents throughout the metropolitan area.

Anyone that logs on to the site can complete the survey, regardless of residency.

In addition to the survey, the MAPS 3? Web site also features a question and answer section, background information on MAPS and MAPS for Kids and the transcript of Mayor Cornett’s State of the City address.
