John Q. Hammons originally had an Embassy Suites planned for downtown, but when the Redhawks wouldn't allow him the build a parking garage on their land across the street, he had to build a much smaller hotel, the Marriott Residence Inn.

When asked recently if he still planned an Embassy Suites for downtown, he said yes.

Any ideas on where this hotel might be built?

Maybe he's waiting for the I-40 realignment to open up some land south of the Ford Center.

Yo Spartan, Where do you find that kind of info on emporis? I go to that site, but don't know where to go for info about proposed projects.

Embassy Suites Hotel Oklahoma City- Bricktown, Oklahoma City (http://www.emporis.com/en/wm/bu/?id=embassysuiteshoteloklahomacitybricktown-oklahomacity-ok-usa)

There are some obvious...factual errors, but for the most part, what you see there is what you get.

There's absolutely nothing we don't already know on Emporis. That's old information, not inside information.

Oh, you knew how tall, how many stories, etc, etc?

Yes, the Embassy Suites that Hammons had proposed for the site where Residence Inn now sits, was to be a 10 story, Embassy Suites, with conference center.

The Residence Inn is also on Emporis, though.

They probably just haven't removed the Embassy Suites yet.
