"Fliers prompt jury delay

As many as two dozen jury trials were put on hold today at the Oklahoma County Courthouse after prosecutors objected to the distribution of fliers critical of District Attorney Wes Lane.
More than 400 would-be jurors were excused for the day after prosecutors brought the matter to the attention of District Judge Ray Elliott, the chief judge. The matter is now in the hands of the state Court of Criminal Appeals.
Brian Bates, the self-proclaimed "Video Vigilante," said he has been handing out his Wes Watch, a tabloid style attack on Lane, at the courthouse for the past week after checking with city officials to see if it was OK.
Bates is awaiting trial on pandering charges, alleging he paid prostitutues to lure clients where he could film them. "
