Hi Everyone!! :tweeted:

My name is Mark I've been in OKC for about 2 weeks now and my work partner just sits in his hotel room and doesnt want to do anything. I'm totally bored, I see there's lots to do but since I'm pretty much alone here does anyone have any suggestions of what to do?

Do people from OKC Talk ever meet up to play pool or go golfing or anything? I think OKC is a beautiful city I really like it here, I'm here for another couple months before going back to Canada.

Anyways hope to hear from someone soon, before I go insane with boredom! haha

Peace,
Mark

Yes. There should be a trolley stop with trolleys running about every 45 mins to 1 hour. Hop on one of those and ride it to Bricktown.

Once you get there, the fun part will be self-explanatory.

If you don't mind me asking... what brings you here to OKC?

Check out the OKC Museum of Art (http://www.okcmoa.com/) if you get a chance. On Thursday evening (5-9pm) they have Cocktails on the Skyline thru October. Very nice and fun!

There's also a great exhibit at the art muesum, if you get there while it's open.

You could also check out the myriad gardens downtown since the weather has been so nice. It's a calm place but has nice views of the skyline.

Hello, I'm a pipeline inspector with specialized training in quite a few non destructive testing techniques rare in USA. My work visa was recently approved for 3 years so I'll be travelling around the states for 3-5 years. The guy I'm working with is a good guy and good tech but he very much keeps to himself so I get bored quite easily. I'll take a lookat the OKC Art Museum I think I'd enjoy that. However I'll be by myself which won't be as fun but still who knows who I'll meet. So far everyone in OKC has been great I love the accent and am enjoying the stories.

What all are you interested in? Also, what age group are you in? That way, we don't send you to the wrong club/bar.

Haha thanks yeah I'm 24 from Alberta, Canada. I'm pretty much interested in anything and everything from culture to partying to comedy to music. I've hit the golf course a few times with my partner that's been fun but that's all he's interested in. I've looked up bricktown which looks awesome, anyone want to go? haha also frontiercity looks pretty good I'd like to hit that up this weekend.

Suzy Haner is the most exciting thing that's happened to hypnotism since Pat Collins took the industry by storm over forty years ago. Her show is totally original and hr star is on the rise. For the past eight years, she's been one of the most sought after performers in the United States, appearing on television and at countless corporate functions, theme parks and night clubs. Her combination of talent and charisma is simply unparalleled by any other hypnotist performing today. To learn about Suzy Haner, please visit http://www.suzyhaner.com. (http://www.suzyhaner.com./)

If you're interested in seeing a good comedy show, the Looney Bin usually has some good stuff going on. They have non-smoking shows sometimes, and the only downside is there is a 1 drink minimum. You can google them to find out more information.

Hmm Canadians...thought I got away from them, and now they are invading here? :) You do currency exchanges, I still have some canadian money that I never changed out. LOL

Welcome to the City...plenty to do, now that it isn't so bloody hot. Enjoy your stay...this is one of the best times of the year to visit. Going by your time frame, you should even be catch some Hornets games if you are into basketball. However, if you like football...find someone to take you to a Sooners game - if you can. :)

Haha no no we're not invading it's only me my partner is from Texas. He's big into football but he's a longhorn fan which apparently is not a good thing in OKC. ;) haha. I'm of course more into hockey but I'd love to check out a basketball game I've never been to one.

Currency exchange eh? <--uh oh you caught me saying 'eh'. Haha ya I can exchange it for ya ;) take me to a basketball game and you have a deal! Hahaha just jokin. Hey does anyone here go to sportsbars close to meridian ave/I40? I just asked my partner here but he says he's not into sportsbars, he's really not into anything very strange indeed...

I'm going to go insane if I don't get out of this room!! :sofa:

Hey Mark,

Go check out the Paseo Arts District. It's a cool area of Spanish-style buildings with art galleries and a couple of cool bars. I think you'll enjoy Galileo's a great deal.

Also, the Western Avenue district has much to enjoy: Sushi Neko, VZDs, Cafe Nova, Musashi's and many more.

For live music, VZDs is good, the Conservatory has a challenging lineup.

It doesn't seem like very many people on this site go out much, because there is good entertainment in OKC every night of the week. I was at Galileo's on a Tuesday a couple of weeks ago and it was jammed -- as was the Paseo in general.

There's a lot to do here.

mark, the Blazers (our hockey team) starts in early to mid Oct. perhaps you can catch some hockey games.

And to rephrase what soonerguru said, people on this site do go out alot, just not as an OKCTalk group but in their own circles. I go out the majority of the week. I bet if you check the Singles Lounge you could find some people to hang with.

I second the recommendation for the Paseo, although I would wait and go on the first friday of October because that's the monthly Friday Night Walk and all the galleries will be open and serving wine and stuff. It's a lot of fun.

Also, the OKC Museum of Art I highly recommend to all of you. The Egyptian exhibit from the British Museum right now is amazing. I was there last Sunday and the whole place was packed.
