So what do you think? Most of these were taken at the Myriad Gardens...some at some office planters downtown.

You think? I have a problem with shaky hands and I can never tell if the photos are in focus on the lcd screen. Sometimes I'm a bit disappointed when I get home and load them :(

But thanks!

My personal favorites are hands-down the first one (crepe myrtle flower on the pavement) and the black-eyed susan...or whatever it is.

You be surprised how much clearer a pic turns out on digi cams, even if you close to being still. You just don't want to shae or move alot. I have thought about taking up photography as a small hobby but trying to find things to picture. I have some pics I could post but will have to resize later when I get the chance, it won't let me post the size they are now.

Nice pics, bandnerd. My 2 faves are the purple vinca (or periwinkle) on the pavement (great constrat in colors) and the 2nd one with the spider (can't tell what the flower is?).

I have one of those wacky cameras with a gyroscope, or something, built in; you have to disable it if you want to take a picture that looks like everything's shaking. Otherwise, solid as a rock, and my hands are among the least steady in all of sub-amateur photography.

sweetdaisy--it's actually a single verbena flower ;) They are usually in clusters. Very small flower.

The flower with the spider looked like a very small morning glory.

And thanks!

Another tip at taking pictures, if its going ot be alot and can be used is a tripod stand. Make sure camara will accept a tripod setup, look on the bottom there should be a place to screw it in. When you are ready setup the tripod and put the camara on it and take as many clear non bluury pics as you want. I have one for mine, they work great.

I have the place for the tripod, I think the tripods at wal-mart are like $15. Maybe I'll go pick some up. Problem with tripods is most of those photos were taken with my hand well out in front of me, or me down on the ground looking up, etc. and a tripod just won't work for that!

I was looking at some other, nicer more professional cameras, too. One had an anti-shaking thing on it for unstable people like me lol. Might be worth looking into! Plus, better control...my camera is just a point and shoot canon powershot. Great little vacation camera, but I can't see getting really artistic with it.

Would make a nice desktop background if I wouldn't get laughed out of the office as a girlie man!
