This is really sad, especially when most of these people had air conditioners, but they were either broken or they would not turn them on because they knew they could not afford their electric bill.

State heat deaths:

A 72 year old woman was found dead Tuesda in her southwest OKC home. She had no air conditioning or fans.</DIV>
A 64 year old Chickasha man died inside his home, without fans or air conditioning. His body was too decomposed for an autopsy, so an exact cause of death is not known.

In Lindsay, Marietta “Jean” Lacy, 77, was buried Thursday. A Meals on Wheels volunteer found her dead in her home. The inside temperature was 98 to 100 degrees. Lacy’s air conditioner was not running.

An 87 year old Oklahoma City woman was found dead by a neighbor last week. Her air conditioner was broken.

A 72 year old Gore man was found dead last week inside his non-air conditioned travel trailer.

A broken air conditioner was blamed for the death last week of Raymond Patterson, 76, of OKC.

Hariett Stahl, 62, of The Village died last week. She hadn’t turned on her aire conditioner.
