I've had some shady dealings with Atlas foundation and would like to find someone who isn't going to rip me off. Any recommendations from personal experience would be appreciated.

Ditto with framing repair.

Hey travich, did you ever find anyone to do your foundation repair? I'm getting ready to have some work done on my home (or else the corner of the house is going to eventually fall off!), and was wondering if you had any success.

When we had to have the foundation repaired on my former home, we used Olshan. Price was 450.00 per pier.

Does Olshan use the cable-lock method or steel piers?

Cable lock. They have a "lifetime" guarantee, which they are very good about honoring. We had one pier break and they repaired it the next day as well as paid for the repair to the interior wall.

The latter may be because they have done four houses for us.

Whatever you do STAY AWAY FROM Metroplex Foundation and Drain!! ABSOLUTE RIPOFF!!!

I actually had good luck with Permalift. I had a structural engineer's report, they came out and did almost exactly what the engineer said. When I pointed out that the foundation was a little off, they came back and fixed it, no questions asked. One peer cost about 500...

Some of these places are cheap, but are backed up for a long time.

Good luck!

I am writing this to also WARN you about Mr. Jake Schatz owner of Metro-plex! I made arrangements for him to do foundation repair September 2007. Mr. Schatz showed up pressuring me to pay him even thou the work was scheduled for October. I relented and paid him half $2700. Next day, I came home for lunch, and surprised 3 workmen tearing up my property. I believe this was Mr. Schatz way to force me to begin work immediately. Because he needed the money! After that I decided to do only the part I had paid for. I told him of my decision. But never could get Mr. Schatz to speak with me without hanging up. I never got any work done.

I found out he has an unsatisfactory rating with the Better Business Bureau. And is a plumbing contractor not a foundation specialist. Oklahoma State Court records show 7 cases against him. Plus there are several negative online reviews. I am going to court and possibly the attorney general. But it's doubtful I will ever see my $2700. My hope is this helps you avoid a man that has no conscious, morals or integrity!

I also hope you learn from my mistake and check a business out first!
