Sorry if this has already been discussed...but I noticed the building on the southeast corner of Grand & May was removed this week. Does anyone know the plans for that corner?

It actually cleaned that corner up nicely.

Remind me what building that was. Was that the old La Roca building?

Yep. It went through a couple of resaurants afterwards before sitting vacant for the past 8 or 10 years.

Kinda what I've heard, as well.

(insert blah, blah, there's one on every corner type of comment here)

I think it'd be a nice addition to the neighborhood!

This is a HUGE lot for just a Starbucks. Would anything else go there?

Anyone else think the city is being oversaturated with Starbucks?

When they stop building new ones, I'll figure the market is saturated.

Besides, I prefer Java Dave's.

Is it urban in design? I mean does it come up to corner with parking behind?

There will be a drive through at the Starbucks, wich takes up a bit of space, as well as regular customer parking.

I don't think the market is anywhere close to being saturated with Starbucks. We're one of their markets that they are agressively expanding in. We're nowhere close to having as many stores as a mature Starbucks community does.

Currently, we don't have any downtown or in Bricktown. I'd imagine there will be at least three located downtown and probably two in Bricktown.

I think the drive throughs are great. We had quite a few Java Huts which were so nice on cold rainy mornings. I didn't go very often but once in awhile it was nice.

On another note... it is interesting, for those wanting to retire wealthy, that if you took the money you spent on Starbucks daily and invested that you would be a millionaire when you retire.

Never to late to start thinking about saving money.. pay yourself first (automatic deposits into an investment/savings account) and then budget in an occasional treat like a $5 Starbucks..:Smiley199
