John Rhodes

Public Works Contract Manager John Rhodes was the South Oklahoma City Kiwanis Club Employee of the Month for March.

John was recognized for his work as Project Manager for the MAPS river project, which included everything from managing complex environmental studies to manually opening and closing the new dams while the automated systems were being programmed and tested.

John also managed the development of the river bottomland and oversaw the restoration of river wetlands and ponds.

John also serves as Surrogate General Manager to the Oklahoma City Riverfront Redevelopment Authority. He’s been with the City 9 years.

Sergeant Jeff R. Ramsey

Police Sergeant Jeff R. Ramsey was named Police Officer of the Year for his role in assisting in the arrest of a felony suspect who was trying to escape officers of the Metro Fugitive Task Force.

Sergeant Ramsey is a Campus Resource Officer assigned to Capitol Hill High School and has been with the City for 27 years.

Corporal John Cook

Fire Corporal Jon Cook was named Firefighter of the Year in recognition of his many off-duty volunteer pursuits. He raised $8,000 in a single day for the MDA ‘Fill the Boot’ drive, spearheads the annual DHS Christmas Drive at Fire Station 1 and is also involved in the Fellowship of Chrsitian Firefighters and the “Coats for Kids” program.

Corporal Cook has been with the City 14 years.
