Shooting suspect released on bail

GROVE -- A Grove man accused of shooting and wounding two police officers was released from the Delaware County jail Wednesday after his bail was reduced.

Coby Livesay, 31, was charged with two counts of shooting with intent to kill. He was released on $50,000 bail. Livesay's bail was reduced from $200,000 Tuesday.

Livesay is accused of wounding Delaware County deputy Denny Martin and Grove police officer Dave McCracken with a 20-gauge shotgun as they responded to a domestic call.

Livesay's attorney, Winston Connor II, said previously his client has a history of mental problems and was "trying to commit suicide by cop."

This makes no sense to me. Why would they reduce bail for a suspect that shot and wounded two police officers? The guy has a history of mental illness and was "trying to commit suicide by cop," yet they reduced his bail, so he is now out if jail. It's like a timebomb ready to explode again.

I really question our justice system at times. This is a prime example of it gone wrong. :(
