I thought it would be great to start a thread on the "Ups and Downs" of Dallas as a whole (Suburbs and ALL)!

(BTW - I lived there from 85-93 and Nov. 02 - Jan 04, with frequent
visits in between those years, and I saw Dallas become something I
hope OKC will not turn into)

I posted FOUR example questions and a few of my own comments underneath. These, of course, are just examples, and you can and should add more ideas and questions. - Let make this An intelectial look at "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly of Dallas"

----------------------------------------

1.) Post things that are either Great or Bad about Dallas that could either hurt or help OKC in the future.

*Ex. For example why you hate or love the traffic and exploading population
there and has it been handled well? or, like in my opinion do all the
ALL the suburbs, streets, neigherborhoods (with their cheap tract
housing built by national homebuilders only in it for the money) and retail
shopping centers and all look the same. Personally, I HOPE TO GOD, OKC
does not let these problems occur when the day arrives we start
exploading. I hope we will have learned from Dallas' mistakes and can
use them as an anti-blueprint.

2.) Do you think Dallas has passed it's "haydays" of the 90's and if so (or not) explain what you think caused this and how OKC should learn from it.

*Ex. If you go to dallasnews's website there are several big sections and
articles printed in the "extra's section" that highlight Dallas's and the
surrounding area's problems. If you want some direct links - it won't
let me put up links yet... please message me (ccsokc) and I will give you
many interesting links.

3.) Wy OKC will one day be better then Dallas.....in any way that you can think of (Ex. Highway system, Development, Crime, Government) or do do you like what Dallas has become and want OKC to develop just like it.

4.) Or List ANY Problems, Comments, heck, plain anything on Dallas...This could become an interesting thread if people don't mind reading a little bit.
