If it is literally 2 feet away, then may just be in the process of replacing the pole & sign. Though it is almost surprising they have not needed to add either yield or stop signs for the bike and golf cart trails in the area, along with more speed limit signs, since the speed limit is almost as low as a residential streets, but a lot of people probably still want to keep driving in the range of major city streets they just exited.

They are adding new stop signs in a few directions and moving existing ones. It is all to accommodate the new bus turn lanes they added.
