Does anyone know what in the world is up with this? They just spend months adding a new lane that is only a couple hundred feet long, making people thing that they have a nice wide exit then immediately getting a lane-end sign. What a waste of money!

Its not finished, they are widening I-44 and I-40 around that juntion and westbound as well on I-40

Well I know that they are widering WB I-40, but I do not see any sign of them doing more work on I-44 past the ramp, plus there are 1 or possibly 2 bridges they would have to widen to really implement a full 2 lan exit. Don't get me wrong, I think that all junctions from an Interstate highway to another should be 2 lanes, but this just looks like a way to get traffic off I-40 and move the bottleneck onto the ramp.

I-40 is much improved from I-44 to MacArthur, although, I do agree that they should've done far more to the interchange. The whole Amarillo Junction shoud have been completlely rebuilt to handle future traffic.

The juntion will be rebuilt in time, when the I-40 Relocation starts

Will it? I-40 Relocation doesn't really have anythign to do with that junction though? Isn't only up to about agnew or so for the relocation? I would imagine they would do some resurfacing there.

In other news would be nice if there was page that ODOT had that was easily accessible that listed these projects. I know they post them WHEN they work on them, but if they KNOW that they are planned, would be nice to let us know, since we do pay for them.

I don't see why they wait until then to do it when they could've redone it now during the current construction.

MONEY, we barely have a 6th of what the re-location is costing
