I've been a SAMs member since the early 1990's, and a Costco member since 2011. I prefer Costco over Sams, but Sams does have things I like that Costco doesn't sell (and vice versa).

This is only for new memberships. If you have already been a member in last few months you will not qualify. I think it is something like last 6 months to qualify.
You cannot get this price for renewals of existing membership.
