Project Life Run to raise funds for smoke alarms

The Oklahoma City Fire Department will host the seventh annual Project Life Run on Sept. 7 at Regatta Park, 701 S Lincoln.

The annual event raises funds to buy life-saving, long-life smoke alarms that are then provided and installed free of charge for residents who need them.

Participants can sign up for the 1-mile Fun Run or the 5K Run. Check-in will begin at 6:30 a.m. Sept. 7, with the Fun Run beginning at 8 a.m., and the 5K Run beginning at 8:30 a.m.

Cost during early registration through Saturday is $30. The fee will be $35 if registering Sunday through Aug. 31, and $40 if registering from Sept. 1 through the day of the race.

Online preregistration will end at noon Sept. 6.

In-person registration will still be available at pre-race packet pick up locations:


• Sept. 5: From 3 to 7 p.m., Academy South, 7700 S Walker Ave.

• Sept. 6: From 3 to 7 p.m., Academy North, 4261 NW 63.
