City Council hires OKC’s first Artist-in-Residence (https://www.okc.gov/Home/Components/News/News/2960/5199?fbclid=IwAR0AlestIkKwF2D7T95yyFdgyDfLrKz9cAp5 xu1BgI8qsQqZb74TbPP_BIo)

It is sad there are no artists living in OKC and they had to look outside of the City to hire our first artist in residence. Maybe she will paint some cool collages of Chili's or maybe an homage to Edmond's finest Scentsy reps? That would be cool! I am hoping at least she can inspire OKC residents to take up art so maybe in the future one of them can be considered for this fine gig! Go BULLDOGS! WOOT WOOT!!!

"The City will pay Bonavida a $750 monthly stipend. From her studio on the first floor of City Hall, 200 N Walker Ave., she’ll work on art projects, display finished pieces for sale, engage with the public, cooperate with partners downtown to market and promote events and activities, and work to grow her career as a professional artist. Bonavida will handle her own sales and keep all of the proceeds."

Based on my extensive research using the 2010 census numbers:

Yukon: 22,709 persons/chilis
MWC: 54,371
Moore: 55,081
Edmond: 81,405
Norman: 110,925
OKC: 116,000

If you want to step a tier down and look at Applebees, there is one in OKC, one in Mustang, one in MWC and one in Moore.

I doubt that there is a residency requirement for the AIR. And some at-large members of City of OKC boards, panels & commissions reside elsewhere. I don't see the problem.

Heh, too bad that's not the same for the city council, huh?
