Louisville-based Texas Roadhouse is bringing its Bubba's 33 concept to West Oklahoma City.

The 7,200 square foot sports bar will share a site with a new McAlister's Deli at Westgate Marketplace on the former site of Lin's Grand Buffet. The old Lin's property of 2 acres was purchased in July for $1.97 million and the structure will be demolished.

This will be Bubba's first restaurant in Oklahoma, which currently operates 25 locations with the nearest in Mesquite, Texas.

The menu offers burgers, pizza, wings and lots of beers on tap. A typical Bubba's features more than 50 TV's.

Their signature burger has one-third pound bacon ground into the patty. Moderately priced, portions are large and the beer is served “almost freezing”.

The design for the Oklahoma City location shows a large bar that is climate-controlled but can be opened via several overhead doors.

McAlister's will build its 14th Oklahoma location directly west.

Building permits have just recently been filed and construction will start once approved, which typically takes one to three months.

Bubba's and McAlister's will join more than 50 stores and restaurants at Westgate Marketplace, a development that spans a full mile between MacArthur and Rockwell on the north side of I-40.

Went there for the first time a couple of weeks ago and again last night. The food is really good. Only issue last night was they brought out our salads before the appetizer we ordered. It was a different person than our waitress that brought out the food. When I told her that we hadn't even got our appetizer yet she just couldn't understand why that was a problem.

That sounds exactly like a problem the company that owns Texas Roadhouse would have lol. Roadhouse is our guilty pleasure, we usually get a salad, appetizer and entree. They are getting so brutally efficient with their food runners, that if the salads don't come before the app, you get like two bites of your app down before salads are delivered and then usually your entree is less than ten minutes behind.Doesn't surpise me Bubbas has a similar thing.

A good server will hold back a ticket and anticipate food running times. I always did when I worked in restaurants. Send the app, if the kitchen is running smooth once the apps hit the table send the entree (which includes the salad ticket). Usually it worked well. Problem is servers now just send their whole tickets at once.

Customer service is a dying art form. Turn and burn.

We went to Bubba's 33 on the 4th of July and on the table they had a card to enter their Burgers for the Brave Sweepstakes. Free burgers for a year. The contest ran from May 31 to July 4th. We entered and she got an email today saying she won. At first we thought the email might be a scam but it had a number to call for the restaurant and to ask for the manager. Email included the managers name. So she called and yes she won entering on the last day of the contest. We go there tomorrow and they will give her 52 vouchers for a free burger, so 1 a week for a year. Manager said you can use them anytime and more than one on any visit or more than one per week. So I looked through the contest rules online just now and it looks like we will get a 1099 with the vouchers too. Boo.

I believe if the value is more than $600 they are required to issue a 1099.

It's $1200 or more at the casinos on any jackpot. Contest ruses said the Prize had a value of $590. We picked up the vouchers last night (52 Free Burger Coupons) and they didn't give us a 1099 and we didn't ask about it. Rereading the contest rules it said the winner MAY be issued a 1099. I guess it still might come in the mail. My wife doesn't remember if she had to enter our address when she entered. She did it all on her phone. The managed did ask if they could take our picture to use and we complied.
