This is a great river and one I have navigated with a raft before when I was a kid. It has extremely beautiful areas.

Looks like the state has finally recruited Arkansas to get on board with a clean up and regulation plan to limit the amount of chicken feces that ultimately finds it way into the river. I hope it actually happens!

Any improvement would be great. It’s sad to see what used to be such a clear river have such deteriorated water quality.

Thanks Scott Pruitt. Your term as AG in OK. reeked as bad as any coop. A tip of the hat to the voters who were complicit in voting this sleaze ball into office.

Not to make this political, but I saw a rumor on FB that the future governor of Oklahoma is bringing Pruitt on his team. Damn shame if true.

He has used one of his staffers for his "im funna be governor of oklahoma!" team or whatever, nothing more I don't think.

Why is chicken waste, or any waste, allowed in streams, rivers or lakes???

Seems like the FEDs would also be asking Ark. that question.

As much as we may like or dislike Scott Pruitt, let’s not ignore that the river presents an especially thorny issue under the Commerce Clause.

You’d have to be a Professor of Constitutional Law to fully understand the nuances at play.

Because Oklahomans love eating chicken so much. So you got fast food chicken places across the street from each other.

Arkansas claims that because the waste is treated it isn't harmful; if that's the case then try dumping those waste into Eureka Springs, AK

Doesn't this whole Chickengate thing date back to the Clinton administration and political favors Tyson was able to get from Clintons EPA and AG?

Scott Pruitt decided to scuttle the lawsuit that Drew as AG filed and was on the process of being ruled on.
Horrible administrator and human being. From the Illinois River to suppressing investigation in illegal activity in the lead cleanup in NE Oklahoma he is a caricature of Mr. Burns of the SIMPSONS.
