I've long had interest in assisting where possible in collaborative efforts such as Wikipedia (I've done a fair amount of editing in the past to http://wikimapia.org/ ). I'm interested in doing some work on Wikipedia, but it's always scared me that I'd not do something the "right way". Just curious if anyone on here does much editing - I'd love to have a mentor.

I read an article a year or two ago about how Wikipedia really could use contributions in the form of photographs, because many that they use are lower resolution as better ones aren't available under the appropriate licensing. So currently my thought is to try to identify area articles that don't have photos or have low resolution ones and to contribute new ones. Even if they just come from my phone camera, seems like they'd be better than nothing.
