Dickey's closed this location this week. I have no info, but another restaurant bites the dust.

Not a huge loss... Still plenty of chain BBQ to be had in OKC.... Earl's, Rib Crib, Billy Sim's, Swadley's, Rudy's...... I'm not sure how Dickey's has made it this long in our market.

Anyone know if the Norman location is still in business?

I agree it's nothing special, just the 2nd restaurant in the neighborhood to close this week.

I doubt their presence was as great as the Nomad II...

Well on the plus side... With Dickey's closing. Maybe you'll get something good to replace it.

I never even bothered trying it after I heard a Texas BBQ Blogger refer to it as "A black mold on BBQ spreading from Texas.".

I had it three times and tried something different each time and disliked it more and more each time. I am glad places like Oklahoma Station is still around for my BBQ craving.

Nomads had amazing food. They will be missed. I wish they had given some sort of notice like Charcoal Oven did, so I could at least
had one last meal.

I agree,Ok Station is always pretty good to me. I tried Dickeys on 63rd 1 time and that's all I needed. I also go to Jacks on 39th as they are also pretty good.

I'll second Jack's BBQ. I like that place a lot, though it's not quite as good as it used to be, before they had a kitchen fire and had to remodel the entire restaurant.

Ah, that place. I have driven by more times than I can count and was always curious about it. I will have to check it out. Thanks for the tip.

I Know I'm in the minority here obviously but *I* liked dickies, but I'm not much for BBQ so not sure how much MY opinion is worth lol.... I was served them for lunch one time (catered lunch) & enjoyed the Chicken a lot & then started eating their pulled pork , enjoyed their Potato Casserole but yeah I know the one in MWC hardly ever had anybody in it :/ tho I read that the one on 63 may had been bought by 2 bros?/ Friends who were going to start using their recipes? or something to that effect

Apparently Dickie's is now going into the taco business too.... Eater doesn't agree (http://dallas.eater.com/2016/9/29/13109234/dickeys-barbecue-pit-frank-n-bean-tacos).... lol

Dickey's had a terrible restaurant in MWC. Inattentive, indifferent staff (and, apparently,) management. I don't want my waitress to bring me little portions of sauce that I have to guess at. PUT THE STUFF ON THE TABLE! I'll take what I like, and leave the rest. I vote "Nothing Lost".
