Since I know there are some dirt track fans on here I thought I'd share something I just read. Lanny Edwards has passed. He owned Lawton Speedway, Devils Bowl Speedway and RPM Speedway. He was the promotor for Fairgrounds Speedway the last few years it operated. He, along with Emmitt Hahn promoted races in the Tulsa area including co-founding the Chili Bowl. He also had a hand in founding the World Of Outlaws and helped lots of drivers move up through the ranks to the national series. Dirt track racing would have looked different through the years without Lanny. RIP my friend!

I don't know a whole lot about Lanny Edwards, but I do know that he was deeply involved in dirt track racing, with a career that started in the mid 50's. He owned multiple tracks and was involved in many others. He was also an inductee into the Sprint Car Hall of Fame.

There goes another legend.
